A client of mine creates beautiful works of art. As they are constantly pitching new business, their customers often ask to see finished products on their Web site.
Just one problem – they don’t have a Web site…yet. Rest assured, their site is in the planning stages, and will be brought to life very soon.
So, my question to you, small business owners: Do you have a Web site? 2015 beckons and Web sites are a critical part of any marketing plan, regardless of your company’s size. Many larger organizations use their sites as the anchor from which all their advertising and marketing programs flow and respond. Yet smaller companies also are reaching companies on a regular basis through their Web sites, displaying their newest products, menus, promotions, and special events.
For those of us who avoid technology like it’s a bad cold, there’s hope – and solutions. Now, more than ever, it’s fairly easy to put a Web site together.
Simply search online for “How to build a Web site,” and you’ll be amazed at how many site-building options exist. Don’t be overwhelmed by the choices, just stick to your business needs, and you should find the right fit.
Keep in mind there is a cost involved, but it’s broken down into manageable monthly hosting fees, and some sites even throw in a free domain name (your company’s Web site address). Alternatively, if you have a friend or relative with an eye for design, marketing, or technology, ask them for advice and assistance.
As you head into the New Year, be sure to list your Web address on your business cards, stationary, and giveaways to get the most return for your new site.
