Not all the people you hire will be great. If your business is too dependent on the person who founded it, that’s a problem, too. This means that the business lacks team integration, collaboration, and stability. As a founder, you have to assemble a team that is almost self-functioning – a well-oiled machine. This means that if you go on vacation, or leave town for a business trip, you can remain confident that the business will go on as usual in your absence. A business that is too reliant on one person is not a strong business. To fix this, work on giving the departments within your company more independence and decision-making power, and make sure everyone is looped in on the important things that happen to the business. Also, encourage collaboration among teams, so that people stay aware of what other teams are doing.
